Commonly prohibited categories
- Acids, dangerous or hazardous goods
- Aerosols, fragrances, perfume, nail varnish, paints, inks, oil and petrol
- Alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco and controlled drugs
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, weapons and imitation weapons
- Cash, currency, negotiable instruments, payment cards and lottery products
- Live animals, livestock, human remains, infectious substances and biological samples
- Illegal, counterfeit or pornographic material
- Passports, driving licences and other irreplaceable documents
- Jewellery, precious metals, bullion, stones and articles of exceptional value
- Perishable goods, plants, seeds and other restricted biological material
- Unaccompanied baggage and personal effects
- Engines, vehicle batteries, furniture, white goods and windscreens
Common compensation exclusions
Some carriers accept the following categories only at the sender’s risk or exclude them from loss and damage compensation:
- Ceramics, china, pottery and stoneware
- Computers, televisions, monitors and other delicate electronics
- Documents
- Fibreglass, glass, lenses and fish tanks
- Food and other perishables
- Fragile or delicate items
- Fishing rods
- Fossils, artwork and similar materials
Your responsibility
